Date: 05/08/2015 – 05/09/2015
Event: OEOSS Round 1
Location: Jeffersonville, Oh
Venue: The Ohio RC Factory
The OEOSS series kicked off with it’s first stop at The Ohio RC Factory. Nitro buggy was the highest attended class with E-Buggy a close second. Both classes went down to a D-Main.
I was able to to put both my Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy directly into their respective A-Mains through qualifying using x4 Blockades.
In E-Buggy we had double A-Mains. In A1 I got a horrible start as traffic was rough. I was able to work my way back up to 4th when my battery died with about 30 seconds to go. In A2 the start was smoother and I was able to battle with the leaders, trading places between 1st and 3rd until once again my battery died with about 40 seconds to go. In the end I had to settle for 7th overall. X4 Blockades were working very well.
In Nitro Buggy I struggled in qualifying. I didn’t have much time on my new RC Concept MC3 engine and didn’t get it 100% dialed in until the 3rd qualifier. In the 3rd qualifier I was able to put a run together sneaking me into the A-Main. There were 3 Total Tekno NB48’s in the A-Main!
After some minor setup changes my car felt really good in the warm up laps and I was confident for the 20 minute A-Main. X4 Blockades were working very well. The start was smooth and I was able to move into 2nd place. About 7 minutes into the race there was a medical emergency and the race was stopped. “Officially” I finished the race in 5th. The race director let the timing system running and people crossed the line at different times pulling their cars off the track.. so it wasn’t to horribly accurate.
A huge thanks to the OEOSS and Ohio RC Factory crew. They put on a great program. Everything moved along flawlessly. The track was awesome and held up great the entire day. Thanks to Chris Hurst for being my pit guy the entire day. Thanks to my sponsors that graciously allow me to represent them. Tekno, Proline, PT Oils, RC Concepts, Fasttraxx Hobbies.
