AMS 5.0 recap.
First off, what an amazing experience. The AMS crew did a great job. The announcing was great and the program was ran as fast as possible. It was great to finally meet the Tekno crew Matt Wolter Chad Panek Eric Fletcher John Bernard Matthew Sistrunk Mark Unrath. A huge thanks to Sean Ramos for taking me down to AMS.
Now to the racing part:
Wow what a challenging track! The pictures just don’t do it justice. The surface was unique to rc racing. Very very hard and slick, but at the same time very forgiving and controllable. I qualified 27th overall in ebuggy (out of 63) I started 1st on the grid in the C-Main and the position for about half of the race until a costly mistake put me back to 5th. Once in traffic i continued to falter to finish in 9th. In nitro buggy i qualified 23rd (out of 65) and started 10th in the B-Main. I worked up to 5th but lost a pressure line. I coasted around the track the rest of the main and finished 8th. Not the results I wanted but managed to learn a great deal to apply to next time.
